Regardless of your musical preferences, the success and influence of the Flaming Lips remains undeniable. As Oklahoma’s most recognizable and commercially successful band continues to crank out their singular blend of pop-rock zaniness, audiences in the Sooner State have continued to grow with them.

Perhaps that’s why NonDoc’s recent ticket giveaway was our most successful contest yet. We asked readers last week to follow us on Twitter and use #WinLipsTix to let us know they were keen to be present at the Lips’ upcoming show this Friday at The Criterion.

You did not disappoint.

In the end, it was Twitter user Kelsey Busken who wound up being selected at random from a pool of dozens of entrants. If that total sounds underwhelming, consider that we’ve had entrants for previous contests total in the single digits. That means this was our most successful promotion yet.

But it was not just the volume of entrants for this giveaway that pleased us; it was their enthusiasm and tweets that made us pleased as punch to offer some small consolation at the end of what has been, for many, a challenging year.

The following represent just a handful of the best tweets regarding our contest:

So, congratulations to the winner, and a hearty thank you to all who participated.

Stay tuned to NonDoc and spread the word through the new year for more chances to win free tickets to some of the best shows in town.

As always, thanks for reading.
