Plaza Mayor, now the de facto center of Oklahoma City’s Latin community, hosted its 11th annual grand fiesta July 23 for Peruvians of Oklahoma.

Hundreds were in attendance on the Sunday afternoon. The assembled stood and first sang the national anthem before doing the same for the Peruvian national anthem.

Vendors from around the metro set up tables to promote their goods and services. Peruvian food and drink was available, including Inca Kola in gold-colored 12-ounce cans.

Politicians addressed the crowd, and pretty dancers entertained everyone. Community beauty queens were crowned. Families mingled, greeting friends and enjoying a pleasant afternoon in central Oklahoma.
