When trying to decide between candidates of the same party in a primary election, sometimes it can seem like each person’s words and positions sound quite similar.
At that point, examining how candidates say those words, how they carry themselves and how they behave under pressure should be extra important before casting your vote in Tuesday’s primary elections.
For your viewing and candidate-researching pleasure, then, NonDoc presents this summary so you can watch these debates before casting your ballots Tuesday. (Viewing tip: Things get rolling after introductions, usually about the seven-minute mark of the videos.)
GOP attorney general debate
Saturday, the three candidates seeking the Oklahoma Republican Party’s nomination for attorney general debated at the Tower Theatre in Oklahoma City. NonDoc hosted the debate with non-partisan partners Let’s Fix This and Generation Citizen.
The video above — shot and edited by Bryce Holland — chronicles the debate between current Attorney General Mike Hunter and challengers Gentner Drummond and Angela Bonilla.
A written recap of the debate by NonDoc editorial intern Ben White can be found here.
GOP state auditor and inspector
Wednesday, NonDoc and its partners also hosted a GOP primary debate between candidates for state auditor and inspector: Cindy Byrd and Charlie Prater. A third GOP candidate cancelled his appearance at the debate hours before it began.
That debate — at the Trolley Stop Record Shop in OKC — can be viewed via NonDoc’s Facebook live video, embedded here:

Democratic labor commissioner candidates
On Friday, June 15, the Trolley Stop Record Shop was also the location for a debate between the two candidates seeking the Oklahoma Democratic Party’s nomination for commissioner of labor: Fred Dorrell and Sam A. Mis-soum.
That debate can be viewed in the following video:

GOP labor commissioner candidates
On Wednesday, June 6, the three Republican candidates seeking their party’s nomination for commissioner of labor debated at the Tower Theatre.
The candidates — Cathy Costello, Leslie Osborn and Keith Swinton — answered questions from three journalists: Aaron Brilbeck of News 9, Brianna Bailey of The Frontier and Claire Donnelly of KGOU. (In two of the other debates listed above, James Coburn of the Edmond Sun was a panelist.)
A recap of the debate can be found here. Unfortunately, technical difficulties resulted in choppy video from the only recording of this debate, which can be found here. The audio, however, is clear.
