#GivingTuesdayNow
#GivingTuesdayNow (Angela Anne Jones)

Today marks the first #GivingTuesdayNow, a global generosity movement borne from the annual #GivingTuesday event and intended to support organizations during the COVID-19 pandemic. We humbly ask our readers to consider making a one-time donation today to help sustain our mission of independent nonprofit journalism that keeps an especially alert eye on our Legislature.

At a time when several publications are facing layoffs and furloughs, your donation to our efforts puts us in a better position to increase our freelance and staff writer capacity now and in the future. No matter the donation, your support of our mission inspires us and is viewed favorably by other foundations that have larger giving or grant capacity.

So for #GivingTuesdayNow, make a one-time donation here.

We recognize that many people are facing great financial challenges, and there many worthy organizations work hard each day for Oklahomans. If you want to support local media but have other priorities first — or if today is just not the right time — you can still help out by sharing this link with your friends or posting it on your social media pages. If you’re not in the habit of checking our website every day, consider following NonDoc’s Facebook, Instagram or Twitter accounts.

Now more than ever, we are so grateful for the community that has read, clicked, funded and advocated for NonDoc through the years. At a time when everything feels uncertain, we find comfort and encouragement knowing that you care about our cause, which is shared by many hard-working journalists. Oklahoma is fortunate to have more than one nonprofit publication worthy of funding, so make sure you routinely check out the work The Frontier and Oklahoma Watch are doing.

No matter what, please have a happy #GivingTuesdayNow, whether you are donating to your favorite organization today or pledging to do so the #GivingTuesday after Thanksgiving — when we all hope things are a little better. On behalf of all of us at the Sustainable Journalism Foundation and NonDoc Media, thank you for being a part of our community.
