I‘m not sure how common large wildfires are in western Oklahoma, but I can’t recall a time where Oklahoma City was so engulfed in smoke as it was Friday.
A minor, minor inconvenience compared to what people are dealing with in northwestern counties, but the sights and smells were something of note here in the metro area. So strong were they, I was frantically looking out of my windows searching for flames. I’m sure many people were doing the same.
On that note, I believe this is one issue all Oklahomans can agree on currently: We need rain. Check out this drought monitoring map.
