Friday night, I was struck at how difficult walking around downtown OKC is at the present time. The streetcar was one of the main reasons I voted yes on MAPS 3, and I have also been excited by Project 180. But from the long and winding route I was forced to take owing to ongoing construction, I can’t help but chuckle at the irony of the situation.
These projects — once completed — will benefit pedestrians around the area, but in their current state they are one of the biggest hindrances to walkability.
That being said, I am a big fan of the transformations to downtown OKC, and I’m very happy we have these sorts of growing pains.
